Nicely said!

It's clear not nearly enough people are listening or can put all the pieces together to make the sensible change in direction needed. Frankly I'm getting rather skeptical that the governments and business will be able to do enough in time to avoid serious environmental "cliffs" Certainly the Canadian government is dragging its feet as much as possible (while trying to spin their efforts as being adequate and sensible). The best they've done is follow the lead of the US who themselves are working hard to do not much.

Somehow the conservatives (who I consider to be businessatives rather than real conservatives who should be cautious about huge risks like global warming) have hijacked much of society over the last decade by denying science and promoting short term gains, greed and consumerism.

I think a lot of people are sensing that the merry-go-round is starting to spin way to fast but they don't know how to let go and jump off the ride. The people at the controls are unlikely to slow it down when they are collecting all the cash that spins off.
