That being said, the assumption that hydro will provide consistent power for twenty years might require re-thinking. Already, the loss of mountain snowcaps is leading to more water passing through dams in the winter than they can hold, followed by shortages in the summer.

Projections based on climatic consistency are increasingly likely to be wrong.</description>
