BP commits half a billion on biofuel research
Oil giant BP has awarded $500 million (U.S.) to the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign toward the creation of the Energy Biosciences Institute,which initially will focus its research on biotechnology to produce biofuels out of everything from corn and field waste to switchgrass and algae.
Wow… you don’t see money being thrown around like that in Canada.
