The data is available and there appear to be some very good sites. While Western Geopower is currently developing the only active geothermal project in Canada, Cayley Geothermal and a couple of other companies hold leases at other locations. Oil producers in the tar sands in Alberta are seriously looking at geothermal hot water to offset burning of some of the fossil fuel they produce to heat water for the oil recovery process.
