Business of Climate Change: A Reminder
Just a reminder that the Business of Climate Change conference, co-hosted by the Canadian Centre for Policy Ingenuity and WWF-Canada, will take place next Wednesday Oct. 25th at the Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa. Paul O’Neill, former U.S. secretary of the treasury and former CEO/chairman of Alcoa, and Elyse Allan, president and CEO of GE Canada, are among the speakers.
Sessions will explore such topics as the impact of climate change on Canada’s economy, corporate carbon risk exposure, and smart regulation as an approach to reducing greenhouse gases. Another session will look at companies that are reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and prospering as a result. The timing couldn’t be better, given that the Harper government is expected to announce its long-await environmental plan next week, which no doubt will be the subject of much debate.
