EEStor discussed in Business 2.0

There’s not much news here, but Business 2.0 (via CNNmoney.com) has a write-up on EEStor Inc. today that quotes Ian Clifford, CEO of Feel Good Cars, and a VP at EEStor. As a reminder, Feel Good Cars has the rights to use EEStor’s energy storage system in small and low-speed vehicles. Clifford said FGC will be using EEStor’s technology in its vehicles in 2008, and the EEStor executive confirms that a key focus for the company is to replace the internal combustion engine with its energy storage technology. Other than that, EEStor is very much operating in secrecy and not much additional detail is provided in this article.

I wonder when EEStor plans to come out of the closet?

Um, what happened to 2007 for Feel Good’s EEStor delivery? That could be a bad sign, that Clifford is saying 2008.

From my foggy memory of a previous article, they are planning on releasing the first feelgood cars in 2007 with old tech batteries, but the eestor versions (if testing goes well) won’t come out till 2008.

September is the month in which third party verification is to be performed. For third party verification, a working product must be supplied, after being tested in house.

Is there any information that this was done?

Sadly, I’m not sure that a prototype will be required, as they were only testing their purifying method for the powder. I have to believe that they had a working prototype prior to this testing, before Kliener and Feel Good Cars would be willing to fork over $4 million dollars, but investment doesn’t necessarily work this way. My company bought million dollar machines for pennies on the dollar when an 800 MILLION DOLLAR FACILITY shut down. . .without making a single product. But, since the materials should be easily available from Alfa Aesar or any other company, they should have been able to produce a small prototype that displays the 31F and 3500V.
