It has been clear for some time that few individuals are sufficiently motivated by altruism to change their behavior, and that economics must be an important driving force as well. Frankly, the sooner that oil hits $100 a barrel the better, as we need to get people serious about changing the way they tool around suburbia well before the oil runs out, not as we hit the bottom of the barrel.
