Bill Ford and auto show remarks
Tony van Alphen, my colleague at the Toronto Star, filed this story from the N.A. auto show in Detroit. It seems Bill Ford, CEO of Ford Motor Co., has a bleak outlook when it comes to oil supply and says the days are numbered for the gasoline-powered engine.
“The world is heading into an era of ever more dearer natural resources and we need to do everything we can to make renewable resources a part of our future,” Ford told reporters. “We’re all heading there regardless of oil prices.”
Ford’s comments support the company’s earlier stated vision and commitment to alternative fuel vehicles, operational efficiency and clean technologies.
