Trojan gets New York City to open its doors
Trojan Technologies, a London, Ontario-based water treatment company that uses ultraviolet disinfection technology, has been selected by New York City to kill bacteria, viruses and other organisms in the drinking water of more than 9 million people.
Talk about a coup. The deal is the largest to date for Trojan, which was acquired a year ago by Washington-based Danaher Corp., and the installation will be the largest of its kind for the UV technology. Back in January the company announced similar deals with the cities of Calgary and Winnipeg.
Trojan’s UV system will be able to treat up to 2.2 billion gallons of water a day in New York City, and will likely be in place within the next two years. Good to see some good Canadian technology having an impact on a world-class U.S. city.
